In the Mood - Red
LEVEL OF PROFICIENCY: Intermediat/Advanced
Fifteen composite canvas patterns with an important message --- open, open, open. This design exemplifies the importance of color choice and open canvas.
Canvas color first, then thread colors, then patterns that have an open concept that allow these first two choices to show off. You can't stop looking at this can you?!! These patterns are surrounded with golden care. Thirty different threads and twelve different beads!!!! Awesom.
Texture is the next addition created by the choice of thirteen overdyed silks, Impressions, varied metallics, silks, perlee, ribbons and numerous beads chosen in gentle colors from families of shell, pear, wisteria, parchment and slate.
The final touch is the delicate oriental garden that resides inside the pagoda. It's math -- it's geometry but most of all it's fun!
The further bonus will be discussion on-line about the history and meaning of RED.
If you've done another of my color concept pieces --- here's another to entertain you!
